Originally from Nancy, Jean-Hugues Poirel has been teaching many disciplines for 19 years now; snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski touring, off piste skiing… This passionate instructor has more than one string to his bow. His does his best to pass on this knowledge with pedagogy and kindness, in a friendly atmosphere. Above all else, it is important for him to take pleasure in order to learn correctly. 

Jean-Hugues, who started skiing as a very small child in the Vosges, improved quickly, until he was able to earn a living from his passion. It was therefore obvious for him to join the prestigious Ecole du Ski Français (ESF), whom excellence and thoroughness he admires. Jean-Hugues arrived in Courchevel ten years ago, and particularly appreciates teaching children and beginners, whom he has the opportunity to observe their improvements with satisfaction.

This instructor is emotionally attached to Courchevel 1850. He already had the opportunity to ski abroad, especially in Oberstdorf (Germany), and in Italy. Jean-Hugues also taught within the ski resort of La Plagne for three years. These experiences made him realise that Courchevel gives the chance to hurtle down its slopes in an otherworldly landscape in safety conditions.

Apart from teaching, Jean-Hugues, who was a river guide for a long time, now works as a real estate agent. In this occupation, he particularly appreciates being in contact with customers; a contact which is similar to that he has on the slopes with his learners, and for whom it is important to strive for satisfaction.
