Born in Albertville to two English parents, Finlay has always lived in Courchevel and is now one of the bilingual ski instructors at ESF Courchevel 1850, where he shares his passion with others.
He was introduced to winter sports at a very early age, as he was lucky enough to discover skiing at the age of two. Later, he joined the Courchevel sports club to learn the discipline and even won a few podium places. He chose to become a ski instructor in the heart of the 3 Valleys because this activity allows him to live his passion while working in a remarkable setting. The freedom associated with skiing is also one of his main motivations.
For Finlay, the esf was an obvious choice, as the school ‘represents French expertise in the field of snow sports instruction’ and transmits values that resonate with him (solidarity, fraternity, etc.). By becoming part of this story, he hopes to pass on his own knowledge to other children and adults through his alpine skiing lessons, and perhaps inspire new vocations among the younger generation.
While still a student, Finlay has already had the opportunity to travel to other continents to practise his favourite winter sport. From Stubai in Austria to Park City (Courchevel's twin town) in the United States, he already has a passion for travel and hopes to discover other ski areas around the world. In addition to all this, Finlay enjoys outdoor sports such as climbing and surfing, a busy schedule!
