"Skiing is my life. I am lucky to be able to design and build equipment, and also to teach this great sport. As a member of ESF Courchevel 1850, I can pass on my passion and my knowledge to an international clientele."

About

Ski instructor for 16 years, Pierre takes you on the slopes of his childhood !

Pierre knows Courchevel very well since he was born there. Originally from Saint-Bon, he grew up on the area and had all his "first times" here : first time sliding at the age of 3, first slope at the age of 4, first slalom at the age 6, first off-piste at the age of 10, first hike at the age of 12...

As a child, he does not take part in many competitions and prefers the practice of off-piste skiing with his parents, Ginette and Robert, ski instructors in Courchevel 1850.  At 15, Pierre understands that skiing is more than a passion for him, it's a real breath of fresh air. He quickly decides to become a ski instructor, driven by his passion and his desire to transmit his knowledge.

For Pierre, skiing is a mix of sensations, exploration and physical effort, whether downhill or uphill. A feeling that he communicates to his students by mixing technique and pleasure. His best memory as a teacher is the moment when he convinced a man to ski though he was very afraid to do so. This victory made him so happy that he almost cried.

The instructor, who has already skied in Switzerland and Italy, plans to hit slopes in Colorado and Utah in the United States to see if the slopes are different from ours.

Outside school holidays, Pierre works as an engineer and designs alpine skis for the Rossignol Group. The instructor is also a fan of outdoor activities : running, mountain hiking, mountain biking, tennis... an accomplished sportsman who is also a blooming dad who enjoys taking care of his baby.

In the area, his favorite slope is La Combe des Pylônes for the magnificent view over the Vanoise massif. His favorite off-piste spots are Le Cirque des Creux Noirs, L'Aiguille du Fruit, the Chanrossa in good weather and the area of La Cave des Creux / Prameruel, in snowy and foggy weather.

For Pierre, the first 4 most beautiful slopes are classics of the World Cup : the Lauberhorn (Wengen, Switzerland), the Birds of Prey (Beaver Creek, USA); La Face de Bellevarde (Val d'Isère, France); the Streif (Kitzbuhel, Austria). And of course La Combe de la Saulire in Courchevel, France !
